मध्यप्रदेश इतिहास परिषद का पंजीकरण, पंजीयक फर्म एवं सोसायटी कार्यालय, भोपाल में क्रमांक S/130/58 के द्वारा दिनांक 03.03.1958 को भोपाल में किया गया। अतः 03.03.1958 से लेकर आज दिनांक तक यह एक पंजीकृत संस्था है जिसमें स्थायी सदस्यों की संख्या लगभग 300 हो चुकी है। इस संस्था का मूल उद्देश्य मध्यप्रदेश के इतिहास के अनछुए पहलूओं को प्रकाशित करना था इसीलिए प्रतिवर्ष मध्यप्रदेश इतिहास परिषद का एक शोध अधिवेशन आयोजित होता था जिसमें इतिहास के विभिन्न विद्वान भाग लेते थे एवं इतिहास के विभिन्न पहलूओं पर प्रकाश डालते थे इस प्रकार एक नवीन इतिहास सामने आता था। आज दिनांक तक मध्यप्रदेश इतिहास परिषद के 41 अधिवेशन विभिन्न स्थानों पर सम्पन्न हो चुके हैं और 42वाँ अधिवेशन शासकीय हमीदिया कला एवं वाणिज्‍य महाविद्यालय भोपाल के तत्वावधान में अक्‍टूबर 2025 में होने जा रहा है। अतः स्पष्ट है कि इतिहास शोध के क्षेत्र में मध्यप्रदेश इतिहास परिषद की भूमिका अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण रही है। इस प्रकार मध्यप्रदेश इतिहास परिषद भोपाल द्वारा अपने 69 वर्ष पूर्ण कर लेना अत्यंत गौरव का विषय है। इसके लिए परिषद के सभी सदस्यों को कोटि-कोटि बधाई, धन्यवाद एवं शुभकामनायें।
